Redesigns: The Need for Them and Strategy Behind Them

Two speakers from retailers that have recently redesigned their retail web sites—Norm Thompson and J.C. Whitney—will
detail design changes they made, why they made them, and how they implemented their redesigns. Norm Thompson Outfitters redesigned
NormThompson.com, SolutionsCatalog.com, and Sahalie.com, by adding several features, such as gift and shoe finders, to make it easier
for consumers to find products. J.C. Whitney recently redesigned JCWhitney.com to make it easier for shoppers to sort through an
online inventory that numbers in the hundreds of thousands. In this session, our speakers will outline how they identified what
they wanted the new designs to accomplish, how they uncovered problems with their existing designs, what it took to fix them, why
they chose the approaches they are taking now, what they're doing to make sure the site stays current in achieving their companies'
goals and what results they have experienced since the re-designs launched just before holiday shopping 2005.
