PRESIDENT OF OLD NAVY JOINS E.PIPHANY BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SAN MATEO - April 18, 2001 - E.piphany, Inc. (Nasdaq: EPNY), the leading provider of intelligent customer interaction software, today announced the appointment of Jenny Ming, president of Old Navy, a division of San-Francisco-based specialty apparel retailer Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS), to its board of directors. As president of one of the country`s most well-known specialty apparel retail brands, Ms. Ming brings global business strategy, vision, and retail industry epertise to E.piphany, as well as first hand knowledge in developing and succesfully implementing customer-centric policies within a large enterprise.

As part of the executive team that introduced Old Navy in 1994, Ms. Ming helped Old Navy make history as the first retailer ever to reach $1 billion in annual sales in less than four years. Today, Old Navy operates almost 700 stores in the United States and Canada, and serves customers in the United States online through oldnavy.com.
Ming joined Gap Inc. in 1986 as merchandise manager of Gap brand activewear. Since that time, she has held the positions of vice president and divionsional merchandise manager for Gap brand activewear and senior vice president of merchandising for Old Navy, responsible for production, planning and distribution. In 1996 she was promoted to executive vice president of merchandising for Old Navy responsible for merchandising, planning and distribution, production and visual and store design processes for all Old Navy stores. As president of Old Navy, Ming is a member of Gap Inc.`s senior operating committee.
