Annual revenue for LivePerson Inc., a provider of live chat services for online retailers and others, grew to $17.4 million in 2004, 45% ahead of 2003’s $12 million, the company reports. Fourth quarter revenue increased 32% to $4.6 million over Q4 2003. The company says the bulk of growth came from existing clients expanding their use of LivePerson services and the addition of new customers. A lesser amount came from the acquisition of Island Data, which was effective Jan. 1, 2004.
Net income for the year was $2.2 million compared to a net loss of $800,000 in 2003. The 2003 results include the impact of a $1 million restructuring expense, the company says. Net income for the fourth quarter of 2004 was $400,000, the same as Q4 ’03.
"We are pleased with the improved revenue growth we experienced in the fourth quarter," CEO Robert LoCascio said. "A strong finish to the year enabled us to deliver annual revenue growth of more than 45% for the second consecutive year."
The company says it expects revenue of $22 million in 2005.
