ShopLocal.com adds social networking to site
Comparison shopping site ShopLocal.com has added “community” features that enable shoppers to create a profile, search through thousands of product reviews, join a discussion on Hot Deals and track prices, all of which can be shared with other site users.
Consumers can register for a free “My Account” public profile to personalize their ShopLocal.com experience, including Price Alerts, delivered via e-mail, that inform shoppers when their desired products are available at a specified price. They also can use their account to share deals, promotions, rebates, coupons, and personal reviews as well as services such as free shipping with their social network.
“Since consumers are the ones on the front lines of shopping, we are inviting them to use our site to share their experiences along with feedback on products and special deals,” says Bob Armour, CMO. “The beauty of this type of online sharing is that it is truly unbiased and creates a very friendly, interactive shopping network.
The enhanced site also includes a new section dedicated to the most reviewed products, allowing visitors to see what consumers are talking about most frequently. And using a featured widget on Google Desktop, ShopLocal.com users can enter a ZIP code and a search term to have updated local deals and information automatically appears in their web browsers.
ShopLocal features searchable online and in-store local deals across shopping categories.
