Duckwall-ALCO Selects Tomax`s Retail.net ® Application
General merchandise chain set to deploy complete Retail.net solution across the enterprise
Salt Lake City, UT, July 21, 2005... Tomax Corporation is pleased to announce the completion of agreements to license Retail.net to Duckwall-ALCO of Abilene, Kansas. Implementation has begun and will include Retail.net across point-of-sale, store operations and corporate merchandise management. In addition, Duckwall-ALCO will deploy the Retail.net Services Framework as a basis for enabling workflow and portal applications for specialized requirements, enterprise communications and connectivity.
Duckwall-ALCO is a successful general lines retailer with 247 locations serving small communities throughout the central United States. With a product offering that ranges from apparel to electronics, Duckwall-ALCO provides underserved communities quality merchandise, discount prices, and superior service – a foundation for success based on consistent growth and profitability.
The selection of Tomax Retail.net is part of a comprehensive program focused on revitalizing technology utilization across the organization. The core strategy is to centralize all of the information required to run the business, manage merchandise, and to streamline applications. This will be accomplished by implementing a wide area network as a basis for delivering thin-client Retail.net applications.
The selection of Tomax and Retail.net provides a single platform that will displace islands of technology from corporate through to the point-of-sale. Centralizing our data and applications and delivering thin-client solutions to our stores will provide online, realtime information throughout the enterprise to move our business forward,” says Tony Corradi, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Duckwall-ALCO.
“Duckwall-ALCO is a great organization and we are committed to the delivery of this project – a total solutions refresh across the enterprise. This will be a flagship implementation of the complete Retail.net suite,” says Eric Olafson, CEO for Tomax.
