Toys ‘R’ Us gives Ron Boire more e-commerce responsibilities

Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. has named Ron Boire as president of North America operations.

In his new role, Boire will continue to oversee all merchandising, marketing and operations for the company’s 586 U.S. stores and its e-commerce business. He will also take on additional responsibility for 67 Toys ‘R’ Us stores and the e-commerce operation in Canada.

Boire joined Toys ‘R’ Us in July 2006 as president of Toys ‘R’ Us, U.S. Boire has been executive vice president and global merchandise manager for Best Buy Co. Inc.

Toys ‘R’ Us, No. 39 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, uses GSI Commerce Inc. to operate its e-commerce platform.
