Sales and Marketing Consulting Organization Retained as ``Virtual Marketing Department``
SEATTLE--April 26, 2001--Go-To-Market Strategies, Inc.(TM) today announced the completed execution of a successful company and product launch for retailing.net, a grocery e-tail solution provider.
The launch was achieved in an e-speed 4-month timeframe and has led to Go-To-Market Strategies being retained through August 2001 to drive retailing.net`s ongoing marketing efforts. Serving as a "virtual marketing department," Go-To-Market Strategies now provides retailing.net with an experienced marketing team, without the overhead required to employ permanent staff -- a cost-effective benefit in these fluctuating economic times.
retailing.net initially engaged Go-To-Market Strategies in late 2000 to help with the marketing launch at its February 2001 retail industry trade show, Marketechnics. This effort included preparing a strategic marketing plan, defining a brand, creating identity materials, and planning and implementing supporting launch activities such as collateral development, web site design and launch, and event coordination.
"We were looking for a full service marketing firm that could be an extension of our team," said Paula Paravecchio, retailing.net`s vice president of sales and marketing. "Go-To-Market Strategies came in and made things happen. Not only did they quickly get us up to speed for our launch, they also built the foundation for our marketing strategy. They knew what needed to be done and did it at the speed we needed in this market. I couldn`t be more pleased with the results."
Following the successful launch, retailing.net retained Go-To-Market Strategies as their "virtual marketing team." This unique approach provides retailing.net with a team of marketing and sales professionals, with over 50 years of experience, alleviating the burden of the overhead required to employ permanent staff members. The cost is equivalent to one and a half permanent hires, and allows retailing.net access to a comprehensive range of skills, typically only available in a larger and more established marketing department.
"Outsourced sales and marketing is a business-savvy choice for many companies," commented Shannon Kavanaugh, Go-To-Market Strategies president and chief operating officer. "When the economy tightens, budgets become harder to come by. Through the outsourcing of some, or all, of its sales and marketing activities, a company can cost effectively support revenue goals, without the overhead risk."
