SAN FRANCISCO--(April 30, 2001--Gap announces that it has expanded its maternity line to include eight categories: jeans, pants, dresses/skirts, shirts/sweaters, T-shirts/tanks/polo`s, outerwear, activewear, accessories; and a new Starter Kit. GapMaternity is available exclusively at gap.com.
Since its introduction one year ago, GapMaternity continues to grow in popularity, and in turn has an increased presence on gap.com. Whether for work, home, evening or weekend, GapMaternity has the pieces to create a versatile maternity wardrobe.
For Summer, customers will find new styles and silhouettes in sweaters, knits, suiting, and outerwear. In addition to new styles, GapMaternity will offer new ankle, regular, and long length options for the stretch boot cut, jean, retro and stretch pants. Also new is the Starter Kit, eight classic Gap items that can be combined to create a variety of outfit options.
GapMaternity is also offering expanded workwear, including a stretch poplin suit in black and khaki, with a skirt, capri and straight-leg pant option. Evening looks fresh with a linen dip dye skirt paired with a double v-neck tank. For everyday dressing, the must-have items for summer are the polo, stretch cotton twin set, and the stretch poplin capri.

GapMaternity items range in size from XS to XL, and gap.com`s easy-to-use size conversion chart helps customers find the fit that is best for them. Styles have been designed for comfort throughout the pregnancy, with special features such as slight A-line styling on tops, and easy-to-wear fabrics like jersey and stretch cotton. Non-binding waistband elastic, tricot panels, and high waist styling help bottoms sit high on the waist so the stomach is not constricted in any way.
Customers can view outfit options and place orders at gap.com. Or, customers can request a GapMaternity brochure at any Gap, GapKids, or babyGap store in the U.S. to see pieces from the collection, then place orders by phone at 800/GAP-STYLE. Currently, orders can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. Also, gap.com has taken the hassle out of returns and exchanges -- maternity items can be returned either directly to gap.com, using the pre-paid return sticker in each order, or to any Gap store throughout the U.S.
