Office Depot’s web sales grew 19.2% in 2004

Online sales at Office Depot Inc. grew 19.2% last year to $3.1 billion from $2.6 billion in the prior year, the company reported today. Total sales in 2004 grew 10% to $13.6 billion compared to 2003. Worldwide comparable sales in the 956 stores and 45 delivery centers that have been open for more than one year increased 1% for the full year 2004.

E-commerce accounted for 22.8% of all Office Depot’s worldwide sales last year, compared to 21% in the previous year.

Net earnings for 2004 were $338.2 million.

North American e-commerce sales grew by 11% during the quarter and 12% for the full year, Office Depot reported, without breaking out dollar amounts.
