Cabela’s Inc. is once more looking for a new chief retailing strategist following the resignation of senior vice president Lynn P. Ferguson.
Cabela’s, No. 80 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, hired Ferguson in July to fill a newly created position as senior vice president in charge of retail strategy, including e-commerce, and real estate development.
But Ferguson has now elected to remain in California. Most recently Ferguson was the chief marketing officer and executive vice president of National Recreational Properties, a direct-to-consumer real estate and financial company. He previously served in senior retail and marketing positions with Tower Records, Charles Schwab and Walt Disney.
Cabela’s president and CEO Dennis Highby will assume responsibility for retail strategy while the search for a replacement is underway.
