Gadi Maier named president and CEO of FraudSciences
E-commerce veteran Gadi Maier, former CEO of online travel services company GetThere, is taking over the reins as president and CEO of FraudSciences Corp., a provider of fraud detection and protection for online credit card transactions.
"Gadi`s extensive leadership and management experience will enable FraudSciences to increase strategic, customer and technology alliances,” says Jeff Brody of Redpoint Ventures, one of two venture capital firms that back FraudSciences. “His successful history managing top-tier, high-growth companies will be an invaluable asset to the company as it continues to deploy and manage world-class fraud detection services capable of increasing order conversions for more online merchants."
Prior to joining FraudSciences, Maier spent a year as a venture partner at investment firms Benchmark Capital and Pinnacle Ventures. Earlier, he had co-founded and served as CEO of Scalent Systems, where he introduced data center software, and co-founded Currenex, an electronic trading network for foreign currencies.
Prior to Currenex, Maier served as chairman, president and CEO of GetThere Inc., a provider of online travel services to large corporations. He oversaw the transformation of GetThere into a public company and its sale to Sabre Holdings Corp. Maier also served as CEO of Memco Software, which was acquired by Computer Associates, and has held executive positions at Cisco Systems Inc., Oracle Corp. and Xidex Corp.
FraudSciences’ customers include online retailers Ice.com, No. 182 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide; NetShops, No. 104; and Goldspeed.com, No. 362. In addition to Redpoint Ventures, FraudSciences is backed by BRM Capital.
