Segue Software Strengthens E-Business Reliability Position With Major New Capabilities In Flagship Products

SilkTest First to Support Automated Netscape 6.0 Verification; SilkPerformer Now Offers Full Support for Wireless Applications

LEXINGTON, Mass.-May 8, 2001-Segue Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEGU), the e-business reliability expert, today announced extended capabilities in the company`s SilkTest and SilkPerformer products -- two offerings in the company`s well-established line of reliability applications. Segue`s eConfidence line, including SilkPerformer, SilkTest, and SilkPilot, are the leading reliability applications on the market, accurately modeling demanding e-business environments and simulating the stress presented by up to hundreds of thousands of concurrent Web site visitors.

SilkTest 5.5 is the first automated application verification product available for the Netscape 6.0 browser as well as the latest release versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Support for Netscape 6.0 extends SilkTest`s ability to verify the reliability of e-business applications built using any of a wide range of technologies and computing platforms. Additional features include a new HTML-based reporting capability and integration with Segue`s SilkMeter product for flexible, controlled licensing.

With SilkPerformer 4.5, Segue now provides full support for the load testing of WAP applications. Its new remote installation technology simplifies large load tests by creating a complete load test environment with multiple agent computers from just one computer. SilkPerformer 4.5 is also fully enabled to load test i-Mode applications, an emerging standard for mobile Internet applications. A new feature in this release is its ability to load test applications built using SOAP, a key technology that is a part of Microsoft`s .NET initiative.

"More than ever, SilkPerformer and SilkTest provide the support today`s e-businesses demand - especially in the area of wireless capabilities -- to ensure their sites and applications are prepared for even the toughest conditions," said Steve Butler, Segue president and chief executive officer. "And with our recently introduced SilkVision monitoring system, global enterprises can now count on a comprehensive suite of solutions that addresses the entire application lifecycle for their most critical e-commerce operations."
