Walt Disney Internet Group has promoted special counsel Jordan McCollum to vice president-counsel.
In his new role McCollum will be responsible for advising Walt Disney Internet senior management on legal issues surrounding new media and interactive entertainment, including digital distribution, social and gaming communities and child safety issues. He will also participate in strategic business development initiatives.
McCollum will report to Walt Disney Internet Group executive vice president for business development Larry Shapiro and to Scott Fain, senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Disney`s media networks business unit. Walt Disney Internet Group includes Disney Shopping Inc., No. 60 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
McCollum joined Disney`s corporate technology group in 2001 and Walt Disney Internet Group in 2005 as a counsel for the mDisney mobile content business unit. McCollum began his legal career in the Los Angeles office of O`Melveny & Myers where he advised technology and media companies on intellectual property, privacy, technology and new media issues.
