PrintPal, Toshiba join top 10 computer hardware sites in number of visitors
Apple led in the number of unique visitors to computer hardware sites in January, with 28.54 million, up 31% over January ’03. PrintPal and Toshiba joined the top 10 sites with traffic of 1.33 million and 1.2 million respectively, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
Dell came in second in the number of unique visitors in January with 16.76 million, up 17% from January ’03, followed by Hewlett-Packard, 12.13 million, down 8%; Sun Microsystems, 2.7 million, up 11%; IBM, 2.6 million, up 4%; Gateway, 2.3 million, down 33%; palmOne, 1.6 million, down 1%; PrintPal, 1.33 million, up 175%; Toshiba, 1.33 million, up 7%; and Epson, 1.2 million, up 14%.
In average time per visit, IBM led with 27 minutes, 34 seconds, up 31% from a year ago; followed by Apple, 20 minutes, 15 seconds, up 17%; XM Satellite Radio, 13 minutes, 36 seconds, down 8%; Dell, 4 minutes, 3 seconds, up 11%; TiVo, 27 minutes, 43 seconds, up 4%; palmOne, 13 minutes, 7 seconds, down 33%; Nintendo, 17 minutes, 20 seconds, down 1%; Hewlett-Packard, 1 minute, 55 seconds, up 7%; Toshiba, 13 minutes, 35 seconds, up 7%; Gateway, 8 minutes, 52 seconds; up 14%.
Also for January, the category of books, movies and music led all retail goods and services industry segments in the number of online ad impressions, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report. The top 10 cited by the report and their number of ad impressions in millions:
