Bluefly adds two outside directors with retail experience
Online discount apparel retailer Bluefly Inc. has added two retail industry veterans to its board of directors.
Barry Erdos, president and COO of Build-a-Bear Workshop, has joined the Bluefly board and will become chairman of Bluefly`s Audit Committee. Before joining Build-a-Bear, Erdos held positions was COO and CFO of women’s apparel retailer Ann Taylor and was COO of apparel retailer J. Crew.
Chris McCann, a founder and president of 1-800-Flowers.com Inc., also has joined the board and been appointed to the Audit Committee. McCann ha been a member of the board of 1-800-Flowers since the company’s founding and also serves on the board of technology company Neoware Inc.
Erdos and McCann replace Robert Stevens and Josephine Esquivel, who resigned from the board “in conjunction with the new appointments,” Bluefly says.
"One of our goals for the past year has been to bring additional operating, financial and public company experience to our board,” said Alan Kane, Bluefly chairman. “Barry and Chris bring us this experience, and we believe that their addition will play a key role in the company`s development."
