Experian Acquires Exactis.com From 24/7 Media; Acquisition Enhances Experian`s CRM Portfolio

ORANGE, Calif.--May 18, 2001--Experian, a leading provider of global information solutions, today announced it has agreed to acquire Exactis from 24/7 Media Inc. (Nasdaq:TFSM), the global leader in multi-platform interactive marketing, for net proceeds of $13.5 million in cash.

The acquisition strengthens Experian`s ability to quickly deliver highly integrated, cost-effective e-mail campaigns for businesses that want to communicate with their customers and prospects through personalized and targeted e-mail messages.

The acquisition of Exactis from 24/7 Media provides Experian with the e-mail marketing infrastructure that offers marketers the most effective, immediate, targeted and inexpensive way to reach consenting customers and self-identified prospects online. Experian will combine its superior direct-marketing solutions with Exactis` e-mail communication capabilities to provide businesses with a complete CRM solution.

Exactis uses its leading-edge technology and unmatched expertise to deliver more than 500 million messages a month to subscribers for more than 100 category leaders in multiple vertical markets.

As a result of this acquisition, Experian now will be able to deliver high-volume persistent e-mail messages, including subscription management, personalized content, click-through tracking, open mail tracking, client format sensing, Web-based reporting and verified opt-in addresses. Experian will continue the permission-based e-mail delivery policies of Exactis.
