How FurnitureFind.com is finding a path toward total e-commerce

FurnitureFind.com is moving into the age of e-commerce. The company has been online for several years, but while shoppers could research multiple lines of furniture, they had to call a contact center and initiate their purchase offline.

But in December FurnitureFind.com added an internally developed shopping cart and the new online retailer has so far recorded more than $150,000 in sales with a typical online order being about $722, says Cory Nielsen, project manager of web development and marketing for FurnitureFind.com.

Other changes are also in the works. All content is now being generated through a new dynamic page process and FurnitureFind.com is enhancing site search with new technology from Endeca Technologies Inc.

A new relationship with different shipping and freight companies is also helping to facilitate faster delivery. FurnitureFind.com is shaving several weeks off its order delivery cycle, which previously took as long as 14 weeks, Nielsen says. To expand its selling capability, Nielsen says FurnitureFind.com will start selling on Amazon.com`s furniture site in the near future. "We`ve been pretty busy here," he says. "We`ve basically been redoing the entire web site."
