Barnes & Noble.com sales up 14.3% in the fourth quarter
Barnes & Noble.com reported 4Q sales of $152 million, up 14.3% from $133 million in the year-ago quarter. Web sales represented 9.1% of Barnes & Nobles total sales of $1.7 billion during the quarter. That compares with 8.4% of $1.6 billion in total sales a year earlier.
For the 12-month period ended Jan. 29, Barnes& Nobles.com posted sales of $420 million, down from $428 million in the 12-month period ended Jan. 31, 2004. That was 8.6% of total sales of $4.9 billion for the 2004 fiscal year. That compares with 9.7% of total sales of $4.4 billion in the 2003 fiscal year.
