Gifts.com launches as shopping portal
IAC/InteractiveCorp. has launched Gifts.com, an online gift-shopping resource to help users find gifts tailored to specific interests, hobbies or personalities. The site also offers interactive, personalized services to help customers plan for and remember gift giving occasions.
Among organizational tools offered are the ability to save profiles of family members, friends and business colleagues; personalized gifting event calendars; auto e-mail reminders and wish lists. Gift.com’s proprietary technology directs users to potential gifts based on factors such as age, gender, personality or interests or specific occasions. It also allows users to compare offers from various merchants.
The user than clicks through to the merchant site to make the purchase. Merchants pay Gifts.com on a pay-per-click basis, a spokesperson says.
Among merchants already signed by Gift.com are Sharper Image, Orvis, Vermont Teddy Bear, Mrs. Fields, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Macys.com, SpaFinder, and J&R Music World. Gifts.com is seeking other major brands to add to its site.
