Sharp gains put MyInks, PrintPal into top 10 computer hardware sites
With their February traffic up nearly three and four times respectively since a year ago, printer supplies retailers PrintPal.com and MyInks.com joined the top 10 computer hardware e-commerce sites, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
MyInks.com posted the largest year-to-year percentage increase in the number of unique visitors in February among computer hardware e-commerce sites, with its traffic rising 296% to 1.49 million from 375,000. PrintPal.com had the second-highest percentage increase at 189%, as its February traffic rose to 1.4 million from 485,000 a year ago.
Apple Computer Inc. maintained its wide lead in number of unique visitors, even though its February traffic rose only 2%, to 22.75 million from 22.35 million. Dell Inc. came in second with 14.27 million unique visitors, up 17%, followed by Hewlett-Packard Co., 10.63 million, down 16%; IBM Corp., 2.15 million, down 12%; Sun Microsystems Inc., 1.84 million, down 32%; Gateway Inc., 1.79 million, down 47%; PalmOne, 1.69 million, up 32%; MyInks, PrintPal, and Epson, 1.23 million, up 24%.
In average time per visit, Toshiba led with 33 minutes, 19 seconds, followed by IBM, 28 minutes, 21 seconds; Apple, 27 minutes, 7 seconds; Dell, 23 minutes, 11 seconds; XM Satellite Radio, 17 minutes, 49 seconds; Gateway Inc., 17 minutes, 28 seconds; Nintendo, 15 minutes, 9 seconds; Creative, 14 minutes, 56 seconds; Hewlett-Packard, 13 minutes, 6 seconds; and PalmOne, 11 minutes, 31 seconds.
Also in February, the books-movies-music segment garnered the most online ad impressions among retail goods and services advertisers, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report.
