Reaffirms continued streaming media industry leadership
Irvine, CA - August 23, 2005 - VitalStream, Inc. (OTCBB: VSTH), a streaming media solutions and content delivery network provider, today announced support for the newly launched Macromedia(r) Flash(r) 8 Player, offering enhanced video components to deliver interactive, rich media content through its reliable and secure content delivery network (CDN).
VitalStream worked closely with Macromedia to develop the Macromedia Flash Video Streaming Service, powered by VitalStream, leading the market as the first Macromedia partner to offer streaming services for Flash Video. As the founding member of the Macromedia Flash Video Streaming Service program, VitalStream`s Streaming Service for Flash Video delivers a higher capacity service than other, non-certified CDN Flash providers.
"Flash Player 8 represents a significant step forward in terms of video streaming capabilities," said Jack Waterman, chief executive officer of VitalStream. "Over the last couple of years, we have seen rapid customer adoption of Flash Video streaming, proving that Flash is a competitive platform. This new version only strengthens that position with its improved streaming video quality and exclusive alpha-channel transparency capabilities."
With VitalStream(r) Streaming Service for Flash, customers can stream interactive video to global audiences using VitalStream`s award-winning CDN. VitalStream`s service provides the most complete toolset to deliver interactive video experiences. MediaConsole(r), the workflow management toolset, includes a media manager, pre-built video skins, a real-time reporting dashboard and the MediaOps(tm) software development kit, a library of Flash software and Flash developed objects that enable developers to quickly and easily implement their Flash projects.
"As a Macromedia-certified CDN partner, VitalStream continues to invest in and offer ground-breaking capabilities for delivering streaming Flash Video," said Chris Hock, director of product management for Macromedia, Inc. "With Flash Professional 8, video content created for the media and entertainment, advertising, retail and enterprise communications markets continues to improve, meeting our customers` demands for better ways to engage their end users."
The new video features found in the Flash Platform with the announcement of Flash Player 8 offer enhanced capabilities for interactive video, enabling VitalStream customers to deliver high-quality video at the smallest file sizes while ensuring faster and smoother video playback. This significantly improves the overall viewing experience of streaming video. Flash developers can now create media compositions with interactive, semi-transparent video overlays over video, text and graphics.
