The leading wireless consumer electronic
products manufacturer will use Catalyst`s RFIDConfigure* QuickStart Kit to integrate passive RFID technology into its supply chain
Milwaukee, WI, August 29, 2005- Catalyst
International, a global provider of supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, is now implementing its CatalystCommand iRFID(tm) software for Uniden America Corporation, the world`s largest manufacturer of cordless telephones, to ensure its compliance with RFID (Radio Frequency
Identification) requirement mandates set by Wal-Mart and Best Buy. CatalystCommand iRFID is an exclusive technology for integrating passive RFID technology into the supply chain environment.
Uniden selected Catalyst after a
comprehensive RFID site assessment that demonstrated the company`s depth of RFID experience and proven project methods. The RFIDConfigure* QuickStart kit will provide Uniden with a preconfigured, bundled solution, plus scalable, flexible services for design, testing, implementation and support.
"Catalyst presented a complete RFID solution
backed up by real world installations and experience," said George Brown, Vice President of Operations for Uniden. "Catalyst was a logical RFID choice because of its excellent project management ability and track record of delivering scalable RFID solutions."
The RFID QuickStart kits are available at
varying price ranges starting as low as $35,000, they are pre-configured to meet RFID compliance mandates in different markets, including Europe, and in different supply chain environments (i.e., SAP or best-of-breed). The kits can be installed by customers or fully implemented by Catalyst.
"We introduced the Catalyst RFID QuickStart
kit offerings earlier this year to enable companies to quickly become compliant with Retail and the Department of Defense RFID mandates," said Michael Eleftheriou, president and CEO of Catalyst. "We are pleased that Uniden has selected Catalyst and our bundled RFID solution for this project."
