ChannelAdvisor and Truition acquire German eBay services providers

Two providers of services to eBay Inc. sellers are betting that a big part of eBay’s future is international. ChannelAdvisor Corp. and Truition Inc. this week both bought German providers of software to eBay sellers.

ChannelAdvisor, in fact, acquired two German eBay Certified Developers and providers of auction management services, AuktionMaster and SpeedSell.

“eBay Germany is the largest marketplace outside of the United States,” says Scot Wingo, CEO of ChannelAdvisor. “These acquisitions not only bring ChannelAdvisor exposure to this huge marketplace and thousands of new subscribers, but also gives us the ability to share local marketplace opportunities with our clients and accelerate their success.”

ChannelAdvisor, AuktionMaster and SpeedSell represent $840 million a year in gross merchandise sales at eBay.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

AuktionMaster.NET features support for over 180 auction platforms worldwide, including 16 eBay marketplaces, supports Amazon Germany, and provides features such as customizable checkout, stock management and payment and shipping services. It also supports transactions in multiple languages and currencies throughout Europe

SpeedSell focuses on smaller sellers that are interested in growing into AuktionMaster

Truition has acquired German software provider AGETO GmbH, which develops and markets sales channel automation software for eBay. It focuses on enterprise level German retailers that want the ability to integrate eBay as a strategic sales, customer acquisition and asset recovery channel.

Truition says that among AGETO’s core technical assets is an ability to quickly and easily integrate its eBay sales automation platform with leading business management, inventory and resource planning systems of most large European software providers.
