Orbit Drop adds to executive ranks with hopes of opening 8,000 eBay stores

Noting that it’s working with hundreds of store developers throughout the 50 states and in Europe with the potential to open more than 8,000 stores, eBay drop-off service company Orbit Drop Inc. has hired two executives to fill the new positions of executive vice president and vice president of franchise operations.

Paul Davies, a management consultant and entrepreneur specializing in Internet, computers and other fields, has been named executive vice president. Dain Turner, who has experience setting up eBay drop-off franchises in Australia and Canada as well as in the U.S., will head up franchise operations.

Based in Dallas with existing stores in Dallas and Houston, Orbit Drop last week moved into a new 8,000-square-foot Dallas facility that serves as both its headquarters and a warehouse.

Orbit Drop says its two U.S. stores are profitable and that it expects its first European store to open in Paris later this month.
