Build-A-Bear Workshop opens company-owned distribution center
Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has opened a 350,000-square-foot facility near Columbus, OH, that will serve as the primary distribution center for its North American store operations.
Build-A-Bear Workshop, No. 400 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, previously used three distribution centers operated by third parties in St. Louis, Toronto, and Los Angeles. The company will continue to use the Toronto center and will transition the St. Louis center to a distribution pool point for local markets.
“This new state-of-the-art distribution center will allow us to not only improve inventory control and management, realize greater efficiencies and reduce operating costs, but also has been designed to accommodate projected growth well into the future,” says Barry Erdos, president.
