JoAnn.com crafts a sweepstakes

JoAnn.com is stitching together a sweepstakes as the e-commerce site approaches the sale of merchandise to more than one million customers.

JoAnn.com, an online fabric and crafts retailer, will offer all customers who place orders between Oct 15 and Oct. 21 a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree or free shipping until 2008. One random grand prize winner will win a $1,000 Joann.com online shopping spree. Five second prize winners will be awarded free shipping for Joann.com products until 2008 as members of Joann.com`s free shipping club loyalty program.

Online sales at JoAnn.com, No. 220 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, have grown more than 25% each of the past two years by adding more than 15,000 new products, offering attractive promotions and delivering strong customer service, industry observers say. The site attracts more than 20,000 new customers each month, according to IdeaForest, an e-commerce company that owns and operates JoAnn.com. The site is the online arm of Jo-Ann Stores Inc.
