Q4 e-mail delivery rate rises to nearly 97%, Digital Impact says


E-mail messages sent by retailers hit their targeted inboxes 96.7% of the time in the fourth quarter, leading all industry segments, reports Digital Impact, basing its figures on e-mail delivered by its clients.

By comparison, the overall e-mail deliverability rate in Q4 was 95.4%, up from 95% in Q3. The telecom industry showed the sharpest increase, rising 5% to 94%, while travel and finance declined slightly, Digital Impact said.

By ISPs, the e-mail deliverability rate reached 97.7% among the top 15 ISPS – including AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Earthlink and MSN. The overall rate for all ISPs was 95.4%.
