Boston-based GetConnected Inc., developer of a transaction processing platform that enables the sale of digital services, has hired Ali I. Riaz as chief executive officer. Riaz was most recently president and COO of Fast Search & Transfer, provider of site and information search technology.
Sasha Novakovich, GetConnected’s founder and former CEO, is now chairman of the board. The company says he will work with Riaz to provide ongoing corporate vision and strategic guidance.
Riaz is responsible for GetConnected’s strategy and execution and will work to further scale client programs, product offerings and business operations. “Ali transformed Fast from a small, striving start-up into a billion dollar global leader, growing 50% annually,” says Novakovich. “He is a successful, highly regarded IT executive whose energy and leadership should drive rapid growth in revenue and enterprise value at GetConnected.”
GetConnected’s customers include AOL, Best Buy, Circuit City, Dell and RadioShack.
“GetConnected is a profitable company with a first-class management team, an established customer base and strong partnerships with the industry’s largest consumer electronics retailers and telecommunications service providers,” says Riaz. “My goal is to unleash the potential of this company and expand upon its market-leading position.”
Prior to Fast, Riaz held executive positions with Computer Sciences Corp. and Novartis International Inc.
