Hunters brag about their catch online at DicksSportingGoods.com

Adding to the community features on its retail web site, Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. this week launched hunting and fishing “bragging boards” where visitors post photos of their hunting and fishing exploits and brag about what they’ve caught.

The bragging feature, developed with the Marketing and Design Services Group of GSI Commerce Inc., is included within the “Lodge,” a new section of DicksSportingGoods.com, No. 143 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, where visitors also can shop for fishing, hunting and campaign supplies. The entire site was recently redesigned with GSI Commerce.

"The new hunting and fishing bragging boards provide extra value to our outdoor customers and to visitors to our online store," says Jeffrey R. Hennion, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Dick's Sporting Goods. "Much like we did for golfers by providing them with an innovative handicap tracker and professional golfing tips, the bragging boards connect outdoor enthusiasts to our brand. It also helps Dick's Sporting Goods maintain a connection to our key consumer groups even when such a connection doesn't necessarily result in an immediate product purchase."
