CDW achieves record total sales, but web sales grow faster
In the third quarter of 2006 web sales at CDW Corp. hit $496.3 million, a 9% increase over Q3 2005’s $445.3 million.
CDW, No. 8 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, achieved record total quarterly sales in the third quarter of 2006. Total sales in Q3 2006 were $1.74 billion compared with $1.67 billion in the third quarter of 2005. This is an increase of 4.1%. E-commerce sales represented 28.5% of total sales.
The retailer seeks to drive sales growth by, in part, looking to its recent acquisition of Berbee Information Networks Corp., a large information technology company. CDW is using the acquisition to offer more technology and services as part of its focus on being a single-source seller of core technology as well as advanced I.T.
“We expect to scale Berbee’s business processes to generate additional growth opportunities,” says John A. Edwardson, chairman and CEO.
