Balducci`s Selects Tomax Corporation`s Retail.net® Solution to Run Grocery Chain

Innovative Specialty Foods Retailer to Implement retail-in-realtime(TM)

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, May 18, 2004 -- Tomax is pleased to announce that Balducci`s has selected Tomax` Retail.net solution as the backbone for their retail operations. Implementation is slated to begin in June, 2004 with go live projected for October 2004.

Sutton Place Gourmet, a highly regarded and successful regional gourmet food chain, acquired Balducci`s in 2000. The Balducci`s brand has become an icon in the New York/Manhattan market. Balducci`s attracts New York natives and visitors alike to its location on 155 W 66th St, for its award-winning assortment of exclusive food products, ready to serve offerings, and catering services, and their name will now be extended to the other stores in the chain.

"The Tomax Retail.net model fits our brand and vision. We are creating a high-performance, customer service oriented information systems architecture that allows realtime integration between point-of-sale, inventory and replenishment systems. We need the benefits of rapid deployment, instant access to information, and the unique flexibility that the Retail.net single-instance strategy offers", says Carey Lowery, Chief Information Officer for Balducci`s.

The implementation plan is based on a fast-forward, aggressive implementation of Retail.net components to manage central office operations including inventory price management, and hosting of the current store point-of-sale system. Subsequent phases will include the deployment of the Tomax Retail.net Java POS solution along with other advanced pricing and supply-chain planning and replenishment components.
