MarkMonitor, a provider of web technology designed to protect retail brands from fraudulent use on the Internet, has namemd Irfan Salim as its new CEO.
Salim, with more than 20 years of executive experience in Internet security, fraud prevention and domain registry, most recently served as president and chief operating officer of Zone Labs Inc. At Zone Labs, he oversaw its expansion from 40 to 230 people and led its sale to Check Point Technologies for about $300 million.

Prior to Zone Labs, Salim was president and CEO of NameSecure.com, an Internet domain name registry and services company. He also served as president of U.S. and European operations at TrendMicro, a provider of enterprise security; president and CEO of Software Publishing Corp., and vice president and general manager of the spreadsheet division at Lotus Development.
