SAN FRANCISCO BAY COFFEE CO. LAUNCHES FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND INTERNET COFFEE SERVICE: CUSTOM COFFEE BLENDS
CUSTOM BLENDED PRIVATE "SIGNATURE" LABEL GOURMET COFFEE FOR CONSUMERS, BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS
SAN LEANDRO, CALIF. (May 26, 2004) - San Francisco Bay Coffee Co. has launched a first-of-its-kind Internet-based coffee service - CUSTOM COFFEE BLENDS: (http://www.customcoffeeblends.com) through which consumers, businesses and organizations can create their own custom-blended, "signature" private label roasted to order gourmet coffee to serve, sell or even raise funds for charitable or philanthropic causes.
San Francisco Bay Coffee Co. (http://www.sfbaycoffee.com) - one of the San Leandro, CA-based Rogers Family Companies whose gourmet coffee and tea products are sold nationwide - believes the Internet-based service breaks new ground in the gourmet coffee industry and in the sophisticated consumer gourmet coffee market. In addition, company officials say, the service gives nonprofit organizations another fundraising tool. San Francisco Bay is the nation`s first major gourmet coffee roaster to offer such a service to consumers, businesses and organizations. For the first time, anyone - a gourmet coffee aficionado, restaurant, business, Little League team, knitting circle, nonprofit or environmental group - can create "roaster fresh" custom blends and create their own catchy label from San Francisco Bay coffees that carry a "Seal of Social/Environmental Responsibility" and a "moneyback guarantee" for customers.
In keeping with its 25-year mission “to improve the lives of everyone who has contact with our coffee,” the family-owned San Francisco Bay Coffee Co. will also offer accredited nonprofit organizations a 30 percent discount to aid their respective fundraising, charitable or philanthropic efforts.
"We believe custom blends could be a new trend for consumers and business owners who can now design, serve or sell their own signature blend: what they want, how they want it and when they want it," said San Francisco Bay Coffee Co. President Jon B. Rogers. "Organizations and groups that need a new fundraising tool can now offer a trademark product to aid their respective causes or marketing effort and at the same time support production of coffee that`s socially and environmentally responsible."
Target consumers are gourmet coffee aficionados, cafes, small coffee and retail shops, groups of friends, clubs, churches, restaurants, offices or professional and youth organizations. Consumers can blend from 27 coffee types and three roasting types for an almost limitless variety of specialty blends. The website offers blend suggestions. Shipping is free. Consumers can select up to four coffees - whole bean or ground - to blend with a minimum order of 18 pounds. All coffees are delivered "roaster fresh" in two-pound “Flavor Safe” bags with a customized label.
