Newgistics` SmartLabel(R) Embedded into Ecometry v6.1L and v7.0

AUSTIN, Texas--May 25, 2004--Newgistics, Inc. the leader in returns management solutions for direct retailers, today announced a partnership with Ecometry Corporation, the premier provider of integrated software solutions for multi-channel commerce. As part of this partnership, Ecometry includes Newgistics` patent-pending SmartLabel(R) service in their 6.1 and 7.0 versions on the MPE platform and their 7.0 release on the Open Systems platform. With Newgistics` Intelligent Returns Management(SM) best-practices, Ecometry clients will have a returns solution that will help drive customer retention, create and maintain loyal customers while increasing profitability.

The integration of Newgistics` SmartLabel into Ecometry`s comprehensive suite of sales and service applications allows Ecometry customers to immediately take advantage of SmartLabel to support their business processes. Retailers will be able to offer customers the convenience of the SmartLabel service, a pre-paid, pre-addressed return-shipping label that is integrated at the point-of-sale on the customer`s order summary and shipped with the merchandise. In-transit scans of SmartLabel`s intelligent barcode provide returns visibility to customer service and operations, improving both customer service and labor planning. Returns processing can automatically deduct the return fee from the customer`s credit or enable appeasement programs based on the retailer`s business rules.
