Vendare Media names a new chairman
Vendare Media, a provider of performance-based online media and marketing applications, has appointed Robert Kavner as executive chairman. He also is chairman of e-mail security firm IronPort Systems Inc. and is a former CEO of AT&T’s Multimedia Products and Services Group.
“Bob’s track record in shaping and growing companies speaks for itself,” said Vendare Media president and CEO Keith Cohn. “Complementing his strategic vision and his overall acumen, his accomplishments span the scope of business, from general management to finance to operations.”
A private investor who has been a venture capitalist since 1995, Kavner also serves as a member of the boards of StorCard, Savage Beast Technologies and Idealab. In the late 1990s, Kavner was CEO of On Command Corp., a provider of in-room video systems to the lodging industry.
Prior to On Command, Kavner held a number of senior-level positions at AT&T. In addition to serving as head of the Multimedia Products and Services Group, he also served as corporate CFO, a member of the corporation’s executive committee, president of the Data Systems Division and chairman of the Unix Systems Laboratory.
During the 18 years prior to joining AT&T, Kavner was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand and co-chairman of the firm’s information industry practice.
