Hip fashion retailer bebe migrates its web platform to Amazon Services
Specialty apparel retailer bebe Stores Inc. reports it has selected Amazon Services Inc., an Amazon.com subsidiary, to power its fast-growing direct to consumer channel. Bebe’s direct sales channel grew 95% during the third quarter, and the retailer said it was looking for a solution to support the growth of bebe.com, its direct mail operation and its loyalty program.
Under the agreement, Amazon Services will build a new private-label bebe.com web site using Amazon’s back-end technology. Amazon also will provide bebe with the tools to manage the content of the site. Phone sales, customer service, and order fulfillment for bebe’s online sales channel will be operated by Amazon’s global network of fulfillment and customer service centers.
