Brilliantshopper.com launches beta version
Brilliantshopper.com, a shopping engine that combines a vertical search engine with the features of a comparison-shopping portal, has launched a beta version. The engine is designed to give consumers the broad reach of a search engine with a focus on merchants and products, says Phillip Lan, founder and CEO.
“What we see right now is that there is a gap in the user experience for Internet shoppers,” Lan says. “You go to one web site and it’s cluttered with non-shopping results. You go to other types of web sites and the results aren’t very broad.”
In addition to giving consumers the ability to search multiple sites quickly, Brilliantshopper will offer coupons tied to the products sought, product reviews and discussion forums, Lan says.
