Aegis Group’s Isobar network acquires technology consultants Molecular
Molecular, the Boston-based Internet technology consulting firms that counts Talbot’s and the TJX Companies among its retailer clients, has been acquired by Isobar, the global digital network created by Aegis Group plc. It’s the second acquisition in the U.S. for U.K.-based Aegis: Aegis in December acquired search marketing firm iProspect Inc. in a deal valued at $50 million. Terms of the Molecular acquisition weren’t disclosed.
“Isobar is focused on building the best digital marketing network in the industry,” says Nigel Morris, worldwide president of Isobar. “Molecular has built an outstanding business with a deep capability using web-enabled technology to maximize the power of the Internet as a transactional channel.”
The acquisition is Isobar’s 11th globally since Aegis launched the digital network in July 2004. Isobar’s acquisition strategy is to acquire strong companies with strong organic growth that are leaders in their sector. Molecular joins Carat Interactive and Freestyle Interactive in addition to iProspect as U.S. companies of Isobar. “Web initiatives are playing a central role in today’s marketing programs, and over the last decade, we’ve followed a simple but effective strategy: helping companies leverage the Internet to increase revenue and manage costs. We’re thrilled about joining this world-class network,” says Ralph J. Fox, CEO of Molecular.
