Q2 web sales climb 27% at PetMed
PetMed Express Inc. is reporting a jump of 27.6% in web sales for the company’s second quarter.
For Q2 of the 2007 fiscal year, PetMed had total e-commerce sales of $27.1 million vs web sales of $21.2 million for the same quarter in the previous year. At the same time total sales rose year-over-year to $43.8 million from $38.7 million, an increase of 13%.
“We are pleased to report that our retail reorder sales increased by 23%, from $22.9 million to $28.1 million for the quarters ended September 30, 2005 and 2006, respectively,” says PetMed CEO Menderes Akdag. “We are currently focused on optimizing our advertising campaigns and improving our current service levels to capture additional market share.”
Overall the web accounted for 62% of total sales vs. 55% in Q3 of fiscal 2006. PetMed is No. 110 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
