Databazaar.com adds 10% more products in site re-design


Databazaar.com, a pure-play online retailer of office supplies, is adding 10% more products as part of a recent site re-design and is expecting 10% growth in sales this year, vice president of marketing David Cohen tells InternetRetailer.com.

Databazaar, No. 203 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, completed the re-design in-house with assistance from an outside consultant. “The site is more friendly and easier to use,” Cohen says.

New features include navigation aids such as Top Sellers and Top Searches, and an expanded section on Frequently Asked Questions. The site also offers additional ways to search through its Celebros site search engine, and it now features customer-generated reviews through PowerReviews.

Databazaar already gets good conversion rates on its site due to features such as free ground shipping on all orders to the U.S., including Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico, as well as free shipping to all U.S. military bases, Cohen says. “Our conversion rates are already high for our industry,” he says, but the expanded product line and site re-design is expected to attract and retain a larger customer base, he adds.
