Boo! FearNet.com launches as a horror video-on-demand site

FearNet.com, a video-on-demand site specializing in horror films and powered by Guba LLC, launched this week as a joint venture of Comcast Corp., Sony Corp. and Lions Gate Entertainment. Visitors to FearNet can rent horror-themed movies at 99 cents each, or download movies for purchase within a price range of $4.99 to $9.99 per movie.

FearNet is also being offered as a video-on-demand channel directly through Comcast to its digital TV subscribers and through FearNet Mobile, also from Comcast.

San Francisco-based Guba, which operates Guba.com as a video-sharing and sales site, provides co-branded video stores that operate as stand-alone web sites or as integrated sections of existing web sites.
