WebSideStory’s revenue rises 38%

Revenue at WebSideStory Inc., a provider of on-demand web site analytics services, rose 38% to $6.96 million for the first quarter ended March 31, up from $5.04 million in the year-ago quarter, the company reported.

Q1 net income rose 700% year-over-year to $1.02 million from $128,000, WebSideStory said. The company also signed up 100 new customers in the quarter.

WebSideStory disclosed a revenue guidance for the second quarter of $9.2 - $9.4 million, factoring in combined revenue of WebSideStory and its recently acquired Avivo Corp., a site search technology company doing business as Atomz. Tom Willardson, WebSideStory’s CFO, said the Q2 revenue guidance for WebSideStory alone would have been $7.8 - $7.9 million.

WebSideStory projects that revenue will reach about $12 million in the fourth quarter and hit a range of $12.7-$13.5 million in the first quarter of next year.
