October web sales drop 12% to $5.7 million at Sharper Image
Internet sales in October at The Sharper Image Corp. were down 12% to $5.7 million from $6.5 million in October 2005, the company reported today. Total October sales were down 17% to $38.1 million from $46.1 million a year earlier. Store sales dropped 29% to $18.4 million from $25.9 million in the prior October, and comparable store sales dropped 31%.
Internet sales for The Sharper Image, No. 87 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, for the third quarter ended Oct. 31 totaled $15 million, a 14% decline from $17.5 million a year earlier. Company sales were $103.3 million, a 14% drop from $119.9 million. Third quarter store sales fell 22% to $55.2 million from $71 million in 2005’s third quarter and comparable store sales fell 25%.
Internet sales for the nine months ended Oct. 31 were $47.3 million, a 20% drop from $59 million a year earlier. Company sales totaled $312.6 million, a 21% decrease from $394.7 million. Store sale for the nine months totaled $176.6 million, a 26% decrease from $237.1 million the prior year, and comparable store sales dropped 28%.
