Although international sales declined 3% year-over-year to $82.5 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, IAC/InteractiveCorp improved its international operating income to a loss of $600,000 from a year-ago loss of $2.8 million, the company says.
IAC, No. 23 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, attributed the narrowed loss to lower distribution costs and a more efficient fulfillment center. It says the drop in international sales occurred across all product categories and was caused partly by a higher rate of returned merchandise.
