Wells’ Debra Rossi takes on a new responsibilities in a multi-channel world
Debra Rossi has been named executive vice president, general manager of Merchant Payment Solutions, Wells Fargo & Co. The company says the promotion reflects a shift in the industry from pure play Internet merchants to multi-channel retailers. Wells Fargo’s Merchant Payment Solutions provides financial, payment and technology systems for medium to large retailers.
Wells Fargo provides card-processing services to approximately 162,000 merchant locations, including over 29,000 Internet merchants. Wells reports it processes 10% of all Internet payments in the United States.
Rossi has over 20 years experience in electronic payments, strategic alliances, portfolio acquisitions, business management and executive positions , including managing Wells Fargo’s Merchant Card Services business from 1992 to 1998, when processing volume jumped from $4 billion to $24 billion.
Rossi serves on the boards of Wells Fargo Merchant Services Co. and John F. Kennedy University. She is also a director for the Wells Fargo Political Action Committee Board, an advisor to the SurePayroll board, a member of Visa’s Acquirer Council, and a member of the Electronic Transactions Association’s Industry Relations Advisory Council.
