Office Depot launches yet another international web site
Office Depot Inc.‘s Viking Office Products subsidiary has launched two new e-commerce web sites in Belgium. Viking is offering two sites to accommodate the language needs of different customers. Dutch-speaking customers can shop at www.vikingdirect.be and French-speaking customers at www.viking-direct.be. The two sites mark the 17th and 18th local sites in 10 countries.
“We believe the introduction of our newest international web sites in Belgium offers tremendous opportunities for growing and increasing our presence in the office supplies market in this important region,” said Bruce Nelson, Office Depot`s chairman and CEO. “Our business in Belgium has steadily increased since we launched our direct mail operations in 1994."
Viking will handle merchandising, warehousing, distribution and customer service with the Belgian infrastructure that exists for the catalog business.
