iTunes expands into four more European countries
Apple Computer Inc.’s iTunes online music service is expanding into Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, the company announced today.
ITunes reports that it now reaches more than 70% of the global music market with online stores serving 19 countries and more than 400 million songs purchased and downloaded worldwide.
To promote the iTunes Music Store launch in Switzerland, Apple and financial services company UBS will give every Swiss citizen over age 13 a free song. UBS is offering song cards for music downloads in all of its branches, which can be used instead of a credit card to purchase tracks from iTunes.
