FTD.com takes over FlowersDirect.com
FTD Inc.’s FTD.com subsidiary has acquired Flowers Direct LLP, the company announced today. Flowers Direct is a direct marketer of floral products and specialty gifts, including floral arrangements, green and blooming
plants and gourmet food items.
"We are very excited about the acquisition of Flowers Direct," said President,
CEO and Chairman Robert L. Norton. "The synergies between FTD.com and Flowers Direct will enable us to integrate Flowers Direct`s operations with FTD.com’s existing floral and specialty gift consumer business, as we continue to focus on increasing profitability and shareholder value."
Customers accessing FlowersDirect.com are already being re-directed to FTD.com.
Purchase price was not disclosed. FTD Inc. recently took over FTD.com which had been a separate company.
