Provide Commerce reaches new record in Mother’s Day shipments
A record 37% increase in Mother’s Day-related shipments has prompted Provide Commerce Inc. to raise its financial guidance for the fiscal year ending June 30. Provide Commerce operates web sites for perishable goods.
During the seven shipping days leading up to Mother’s Day, shipments for the company’s core consumer floral business at ProFlowers.com totaled 770,000, compared to about 560,000 shipped in the same period last year. “We are extremely pleased with our shipment growth during this Mother’s Day period, Bill Strauss, CEO, said. “We credit our record holiday results to our direct business model, our constant focus on the customer experience and our team’s execution discipline.”
Based on the year-over-year increase in Mother’s Day shipments, Provide Commerce is increasing its financial guidance for net sales to between $171.5 million and $175 million, up from the original estimate of between $170 million and $172.5 million.
Net income is expected to fall between $7.3 million and $7.7 million for the year rather than between $7.2 million and $7.4 million as originally estimated, the company says.
Provide Commerce also sells fruit and meat products through CherryMoonFarms.com and UptownPrime.com.
