BabyUniverse establishes 3-person office of the president
Content, e-commerce and new media company BabyUniverse, No. 235 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, has announced management changes and new lines of business in connection with previously announced restructuring efforts. Stuart Goffman has resigned as the company`s president but retains a seat on the company`s board of directors and has been named as its interim chief financial officer, replacing Robert Brown, who has resigned but will continue to provide the company with consulting services.
The role of president has been split into three separate divisional president positions to reflect the company’s different lines of business. Georgiana Brown, executive vice president and formerly director of marketing, has been named to the newly-created position of president, mainstream e-commerce. She will be responsible for BabyUniverse.com, DreamTimeBaby.com, and portions of BabyTV.com, the company’s new Internet TV and social networking business.
Andrea Edmunds, president of PoshTots, has been appointed to the newly established position of president, content and social networking. She`ll be responsible for PoshCravings.com and ePregnancy.com. Susan Lindeman, chief operating officer of PoshTots, has been named to the newly created position of president, luxury e-commerce. She’ll be responsible for PoshTots.com, PoshLiving.com and future planned extensions of the company’s Posh brand.
The newly established position of chief technology officer replaces the former position of chief information officer. Sean Weiss, who had been the company’s CIO, is resigning from the company. Carlos Barreio, the company’s senior software engineer, has been appointed CTO.
“The announced realignment of responsibilities is reflective of the manner in which we have been operating over the recent few months, an approach that has allowed our company to successfully complete its previously discussed integration plan,” says John Textor, company chairman and CEO.
